VENUE:
BROOKERS FIELD (very windy day)!!!
AFC DYNAMO U9’s Vs WHITELEY
WANDERERS CRUSADERS U9’s
Joe Sturman as Referee
Whiteley Wanderers Crusaders kicked off the first 20 minutes and
kept possession of the ball with good passing and teamwork. Several attempts at goal were thwarted by strong
defending from Joseph Twyman and Zakk Evans, and great saves by Matthew Horne.
Afc Dynamo tried hard to steer some action towards Crusaders goal, the ball made
its way up and down the field aided by Matthew Elson’s throw ins, Harry Cox, Luis and Daniel Pottle’s runs up
and down the pitch.
In the nineteenth
minute, just before the whistle, Crusaders Will Bell scored, making it one nil to Crusaders.
The second part of the match saw Daniel Reeves, Harry Cook and
Harry Gille come on to the pitch, with Harry Gille going in goal. Dynamo showed good defending skills,
particularly when Crusaders had a couple of corners, in particular Joseph doing a great header to veer the ball away and Harry
Cook clearing the ball away from goal with a very strong foot!
However Crusaders broke down Dynamo’s defences to go 2-0 up in the seventh minute followed quickly
by two more Crusaders goals scored in this time by Joe Farlow, Lyle Harry and Will Bell getting his second. Another
attempt at a goal was saved well by Harry Gille who kicked it strongly away and down the pitch. After a couple of throw ins
and some very good saves by Harry Gille Crusaders got three more goals one by Will Bell (hat trick for him) and Joe Farlow.
The final twenty minutes, six nil to Crusaders,
a lot for Dynamo to do. Callum and Matthew Horne came on in defence and did some excellent defending against
the Crusaders. Dynamo were now playing much more together as a team. A brilliant run
down the pitch by Dynamo and a great attempt at goal by Daniel Reeves which unfortunately went wide. Ball
back up the field and another goal to Crusaders, courtesy of Kyle Johnson. Dynamo playing stronger in this final part of the
game but Crusaders went on to score another three goals, one by Ben Arnold and another two by Kyle Johnson – a hat trick
for him.
The final score was 10-0
to Whiteley Wanderers Crusaders.
AFC
Dynamo are growing together as a team and becoming stronger but were beaten convincingly by a very good Crusaders Team.
Trophies were awarded to Calum Sturman and
Harry Gille for good performances but Matthew Horne won man of the match for his excellent Goalkeeping and defensive play.
